I’m usually not a big fan of “chewing the meat and spitting out the bones” because often the meat ain’t even seasoned right itself. But, in this case, if we’re going to do it with Christmas and Easter (and Thanksgiving and Communion and vestments and wedding rings and the days of the week and the months of the year), we can certainly do it for Halloween.

The two A-’s that resulted in my 3.94 rather than a 4.0 is a fail in my book. The fact that Honor didn’t start talking until after he turned two, although he now has over 70 words and a few 2 word phrases that he uses consistently - fail. The business that is thriving, despite my needing to do tremendously better with marketing - fail. All the times I don’t know all the answers at my brand spanking new job - fail.

By the time I was crawling toward graduation in 2015, the best friends I’d made and I looked around at the freshman and knew without a shadow of a doubt that if we had applied at the same time as them, we would have NEVER received acceptance letters. Northeastern, within a few short years, had made a NAME for itself.

Designer is a word I’ve always reserved for the naturally artistic.

If Cheyenne says she’s going to do something she’s going to do it. Whether it’s being somewhere, studying something, achievements or pursuits, she’s going to execute.

And, I’m still unconvinced that love, as we know it, exists. 

When the church began, there were no “churches.” The church, as it was then and as it is now, are the people who are disciples of Christ. There were no buildings to meet in and due to the persecution that the early church faced for following Jesus, they met in homes.

Aunt Sallie is my girl. My model for holiness. My symbol of wisdom. My blueprint for grace. She walked miles with and for us - literally. She talked to the Lord on our behalf. She strengthened our feet by her own and our lives by living her own.

Their story matters because it’s a story of the sacrifice and dedication it takes to maintain a good marriage.
