I was feeling like the work I was doing was beneath me, beneath my experience, beneath my education; which, both, have always defined “me.” And on some (read: most) days that took away from my gratefulness that I had THREE (extremely manageable) jobs. The idea of more consumed me, and if I’m being real, still does.

So, when I feel like I'm losing it, and when I feel like I have not a clue what to do next, I do the only thing there is to do right now. I trust that God has got it all under control and I take the next client that walks into DryBar - White Plains. 

E v e r y minister, elder, person who put their lips to a mic was PHENOMENAL. They EACH spoke eloquently and with conviction, clearly studied, not only their text, but the whole Gospel, they were relatable and smart and thorough, they pointed e v e r y t h i n g to Jesus Christ! Every song the choir and praise team sang was about Jesus, it was a healthy mix of new school stuff I'd never heard of about sin being great, but Jesus being greater, and Great is Thy Faithfulness.  INCREDIBLE! 

I AM GIFTED. I am gifted to do hair. I am gifted to write. EQUALLY. The two don't make sense in my mind, but I am convinced they do not have to. God has a plan for my gifts, He wouldn't have trusted them both with me otherwise. It's not easy and I promise I am confused, but I have a sketch of a plan and I am trusting a good, all-knowing God.

I say all this to say, if Shea Moisture wants to expand their market reach, let them. I'm all for inclusion when it comes from Pantene, Tresseme, Paul Mitchell, Garnier, Kerastase, Sexy Hair all themmmmm. BUT DANG SHEA MOISTURE, WE CANT HAVE NOTHING CAN WE?! It's like when your mom tells you she'll give you her fried chicken recipe when you get married, but then let's your sister in on the secret when she turns 16. LET THEM FIGURE IT OUT DON'T GIVE IT TO THEM!!!
