Train It Like You Hired It: Less Prompts & More Purpose for AI

If you wouldn’t hire someone and throw them into the deep end without training (I really hope you wouldn't!), why do that with AI?

There’s a growing temptation to plug your ideas into AI and expect it to spit out something perfect—like a girlfriend. But when you’re building a brand that carries weight—when your work matters—you can’t afford to sound like everyone else.

AI is not a shortcut. It’s a support system. A tool. A team member. And like any new hire, it needs a real onboarding process.

You wouldn’t hand a new team member a random stack of content and say, "Figure out how I talk." You’d give them a clear understanding of your brand mission. Your tone. Your expectations. What you say—and what you never say.

When I work with founders and small teams to train AI to write like them, it’s not about magic prompts or pre-made templates. It’s about:

  • Brand Mission: Teaching AI the 'why' behind the work, so the message always points back to purpose

  • Voice & Tone Guidelines: From how you celebrate wins to how you challenge your audience—your voice should come through across every format

  • Boundaries: No cliches, never, ever any jargon, no phrases you’ve never used in your life. You get to draw the line. You better draw the line.

  • Real Use Cases: We don’t train AI to write poems (unless you're a poet too, but...I still would not recommend)—we train it to write captions, emails, bios, and posts the way you would say them

This process doesn’t take forever. But it does take intentionality.

And once it’s in place? You’re no longer guessing. You’re no longer rewriting a half-baked post that doesn’t sound like you. You’re no longer using AI to save time, but losing your voice.

Here’s what happens when you treat AI like a new hire:

  • You build a tone library that protects your voice

  • Your team (if you have one) can finally use AI tools consistently

  • Your content creation becomes a system, not a scramble

Your voice is part of your brand equity. It deserves to be protected.

If you want your content to sound like you—even when you didn’t write every word—then you need a system that teaches AI how to show up like you would.

But let me be clear: AI is not a replacement for your brain. It can support your content—but it should always be paired with a human review, emotions and experiences. Even well-trained AI can’t match the nuance, creativity or traces of humor that you’d bring. Add your flair. Rework what doesn’t work. Trust your gut over the algorithm, always.

That’s what I help you build.

Whether you’re flying solo or training a team, my Train AI to Sound Like You service is built for people who don’t want to burn out trying to stay visible online—but also don’t want to sound like ChatGPT wrote their business plan, because remember—it could never.
